January 23, 2005 – Everyone has colds

All my co-workers have colds! This means that it’s only a matter of time before I get one too.

Thanks to the close proximity with other teachers and students, it’s very easy for colds to spread quickly. If I was smart, I would probably eat better, get lots of sleep, and lay off the beer and karaoke for a while.

December 16, 2004 – Refusing to catch a cold

I actually started packing! Also, I can feel myself starting to get a cold that is going around. However, I simply refuse to catch a cold before I get on the plane in a few days.

March 30, 2004 – Catching a cold

Starting to get a cold. Colds suck.

(2014 Update) It is pretty common to get a cold or sore throat as an English teacher. The NOVA classrooms are little glass boxes where you are always in close quarters with the students. Students will rarely miss a lesson when they are sick.
